SEVEN PEOPLE FACE DRUG CHARGES IN PEMBROKE
(PEMBROKE, ON) - A coordinated investigation into drug trafficking has led to seven individuals being arrested and charged.
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and officers from the Pembroke Detachment, executed search warrants at residences on William Street.
Officers seized about 55 grams of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone tablets and pills, as well as items associated with drug trafficking.
Major CHARLES, age 45, from Pembroke has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order - two counts
Ian HOPPER, age 50, from Petawawa, and Corey POPKIE, age 38, from Pembroke have been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with probation order
Amanda RUSSELL, age 29, from Pembroke has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Brooke LAVERDURE-ORR, age 29, from Pembroke has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with probation order
Michael O’HARA, age 43, from Petawawa and Owen SACK, age 28, from Pembroke have been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
CHARLES, HOPPER and POPKIE remain in custody.
The other accused have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
