(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual was charged following a shoplifting investigation in Simcoe.

At approximately 12:59 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a shoplifting incident on Queensway East in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that an individual entered a business, concealed merchandise, and exited without making payment.

Officers located the individual on the property and took them into custody without incident.

41-year-old Christopher THOMPSON from Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offence:

• Theft under $5,000 - shoplifting

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
