(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after vehicle leaves road, enters ditch and collides with hydro pole.

On October 12, 2025, at 11:18 am, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Medway Road near Richmond Street in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a single vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed a single vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch and collided with a hydro pole.

There were no serious injuries reported.

As a result, Nicholas DYKEMAN, a 20-year-old of Ilderton, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driver - fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 9, 2025.
