(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) - Elgin OPP lay careless driving charge in single vehicle rollover.

On June 16, 2025, at 1:39 pm, members of the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham-Kent EMS and local fire were dispatched to Highway 40/St. Clair Road near Brook Line in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for the report of a single vehicle rollover.

As a result of the collision, the driver was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Highway 40/St. Clair Road remained closed for approximately four hours between Claymore Line and St. Andrews Line as crews removed the vehicle from the deep ditch.

A 25-year-old of Whitby has been charged under the Highway traffic Act with Careless Driving.
