(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) - The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious assault that occurred in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, shortly before 6:00 pm, officers were called to a residence on Millar Crescent where one person was located with life-threatening injuries. The victim remains in the hospital.

The OPP Sioux Lookout Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch with support from Forensic Identification Services and the OPP Regional Support Team.

Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no signs of a broader threat. Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation. Residents of the area can expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
