(KAPUSKASING, ON) - The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an arrest in Kapuskasing.

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 12:00 pm, the James Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident on Pine Crescent. One individual was arrested and taken into custody.

While in custody, the individual required medical attention and was transported to a local hospital.

As the SIU has invoked its mandate, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to the SIU at siu.media@ontario.ca.
