(MIDLAND, ON) - The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an incident in Midland.

On Monday, September 29, 2025, at approximately 1:40 pm, members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an individual with an edged weapon in a residential area. During the interaction, an officer discharged a less-lethal device.
