SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT INVOKES MANDATE IN OXFORD COUNTY


(OXFORD COUNTY) - The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an arrest in Oxford County.

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 12:25 pm, officers from the Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an individual in connection with an investigation. The individual was transported to the OPP detachment.

While in custody, the individual advised of an injury and was transported to a local hospital for assessment. They were later released from hospital and returned to police custody.

The OPP has notified the SIU of the incident, which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to siu.media@ontario.ca.
