(ESSA, ON) - Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a residential property in Essa Township.

On October 27, 2025, shortly after 5:00 am, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a home on Centre Street in Essa Township. Preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle was taken at approximately 2:53 am, on October 27th 2025.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2025 black Ford Expedition with the Ontario plate of DEVC403. Video footage obtained shows three suspects, unknown descriptions approach the vehicle with a laptop before fleeing the driveway with the vehicle. Although there has been no detailed description of the suspects obtained at this time, the suspects appeared to have arrived in a black four door sedan on Huron Street, no license plate was obtained. 

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may possess relevant video surveillance footage to come forward.
