STOLEN VEHICLE INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN THORNTON

(ESSA, ON) - Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a residential property in Essa Township.

On November 27, 2025, at approximately 3:30 am, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on North Ridge Road in Thornton. Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was taken from the driveway while the owner was inside the residence.

The stolen vehicle is described as a black 2024 RAM 1500 pickup truck with tinted windows and black rims, bearing Ontario licence plate BN56962. The estimated value of the vehicle is approximately $70,000.

The complainant reported hearing a loud noise outside and observed the vehicle leaving the driveway at approximately 3:00am No suspect description or suspect vehicle was identified at this time. Officers canvassed the area; however, no video surveillance was obtained.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may possess relevant video surveillance footage to come forward.
