(Geraldton, ON) - One male is facing a Stunt Driving Charge after driving 63 kilometers over the speed limit on Highway 11 near Greenstone, Ontario.
On July 18th, 2025, at approximately 7:09 pm, members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment were on general patrol travelling Eastbound on Highway 11 when the officer observed a vehicle travelling Westbound at a high rate of speed.
Utilizing the radar speed measuring device the officer recorded the vehicle travelling at 153 km/hr., in a posted 90 km/hr. zone.
The license plate was also involved in a traffic complaint in Southern Ontario for travelling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic 4 days prior to the traffic stop.
A traffic stop was conducted and a 20-year-old male from Mississauga has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
-Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed.
The accused received a 30-day Administrative Drivers License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment, the driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 8th, 2025.
