SUDDEN DEATH INVESTIGATION ON HIGHWAY 403


(BURLINGTON, ON) - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Burlington Detachment are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed on highway 403 in Hamilton on Saturday.

Just before 4 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, a vehicle travelling westbound on highway 403 past Aberdeen Ave in the City of Hamilton struck and critically injured a pedestrian on the highway.

Emergency resuscitation attempts at the scene were unsuccessful and the 34-year-old-male from Hamilton was pronounced deceased.

The two occupants of the vehicle were not injured and remained on scene.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit attended to complete a thorough technical/reconstructive motor vehicle investigation of the scene. The westbound lanes of the 403 were closed at Aberdeen for approximately five hours for the collision investigation and cleanup.

No charges are expected at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.

The OPP thanks the public for their patience and assistance with this collision investigation and resulting closure.
