(LAKESHORE, ON)- Members of the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Detachment responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver.

On August 5, 2025, at approximately 1:05 pm, members of Lakeshore OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint in a parking lot on Notre Dame Street, Belle River, Municipality of Lakeshore.

Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle and upon speaking to the driver determined that they had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

As a result, John MCMINIMEE, 71-year-old resident of Lakeshore, has been charged with:

• Operation While Impaired - alcohol and drugs
• Operation While Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 21, 2025.
