(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) - The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a reported incident involving a suspicious male on a local fitness trail.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, a female cyclist was traveling along the OFSC A/Fitness Trail between Hammond and Bourget when she noticed a male cyclist behind her. She pulled to the side to allow him to pass. As he approached, the male slowed down and attempted to inappropriately touch her. The female stopped, and the male continued eastbound on the trail.
A short time later, the female resumed cycling. The same male suspect encountered her again, began following her, and made an inappropriate sexual proposition. When the victim did not respond, the suspect repeated the request and offered her money. The victim ignored him and stated she would contact police. The suspect then fled the area, continuing eastbound on the trail.
The suspect is described as a white male, tanned, in his early 20s, with a slim build, blond hair, and a moustache. He spoke English with no accent and was wearing a sleeveless grey shirt and dark shorts (not tight-fitting cycling attire). He was riding a black bicycle.
