SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(HALDIMAND, ON) - On November 20, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm, members of the Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the town of Dunnville.

Upon arrival Haldimand officers investigated a suspicious parked vehicle and located a 52-year-old male from Niagara Falls, inside. During the interaction, the male sat in the driver’s seat and started the ignition of the vehicle.

Police observed signs of impairment and determined the male had care and control of the vehicle. A roadside breath test was administered which resulted in a “Fail.” Police placed the male under arrest whereby he later provided two breath samples over the legal limit.

Charged:

  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The vehicle was impounded, and the male was released on an undertaking with a December 23 court date.

The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving-whether by alcohol or drugs-remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
