SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE RESULTS IN MULTIPLE CHARGES

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - Nine charges have been laid against a Stratford resident following recovery of a stolen vehicle. 

On October 20, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive patrol on Highway 9 in the Township of Minto, when they located a suspicious person with a stolen vehicle. The vehicle fled when police attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

As a result of the investigation, Kiya DIETRICH, a 24-year-old from Stratford, is charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

• Flight from police
• Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Dangerous operation
• Operation while prohibited - legal restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law (two counts)
• Theft under $5,000
• Driving while under suspension
• Fail to comply with Probation Order (two counts)

The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph.
