(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with sexual offences.

Officers began an investigation on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, regarding allegations of sexual assault involving two youth between 2018 and 2023. As the result of the investigation a 72-year-old man was arrested later that day and charged with:

• Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age - two counts
• Sexual Interference - two counts

The male was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victims.
