(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving reports for a collision on County Road 8 near Fairbairn Road.

On Monday October 13, 2025 at approximately 8:39 pm, officers were notified of a two vehicle collision on County Road 8 in Verulam Township. One injured party was transported to local hospital for their injuries and the other driver was arrested for impaired driving related offences.

Jason Way, 27-year-old of Dunsford, was charged with:

• Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and drugs
• Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
• Careless Driving

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
