THIEVES CONTINUING TO TARGET LOCKED AND UNLOCKED VEHICLES


(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Police are urging the public to remove all valuables from their vehicles, as thieves persist in targeting both locked and unlocked vehicles.

At approximately 2:34 pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported theft from a motor vehicle on Smith’s Mill Road, near the Brant County border.

The investigation revealed that at approximately 10:30 am that day, at least two unidentified individuals arrived at the address in a black and white pickup truck. One of the suspects, observed wearing a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and white shoes, exited the vehicle and unlawfully entered a sedan on the property, stealing a wallet containing bank cards, personal identification, and Canadian currency.

At approximately 4:21 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the Norfolk County OPP responded to a similar incident on Queen Street South in Simcoe. It was reported that between 5:00 pm on Monday, July 21, and 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23, one or more unidentified individuals attended the address, unlawfully entered a pickup truck, and stole various items, including a cryotherapy machine.
