THREE IMPAIRED DRIVERS REMOVED FROM WELLINGTON ROADWAYS
(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Three impaired drivers were removed from Wellington County roadways over the weekend.
On January 3, 2026, at approximately 3:15 am, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision into a ditch at Sideroad 20 and Third Line within Centre Wellington Township.
As a result of the investigation, Mark WELLMAN, a 51-year-old from Rockwood, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 16, 2025.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Additionally, on January 3, 2025, at approximately 5:15 am, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint from a concerned member of the public of a suspected impaired driver on St. Andrew Street West in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, Brittany EVANS, a 30-year-old from Cambridge, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 13, 2025.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Further, on January 4, 2025, at approximately 8:30 am, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a traffic complaint from a concerned member of the public of a motorist asleep inside their recently damaged vehicle in a parking lot on Nicholas Beaver Road within Puslinch Township.
As a result of the investigation, Benjamin HUBER, a 20-year-old from Milton, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on January 13, 2025.
