(THUNDER BAY, ON) - Members of the Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested & charged two individuals with offences under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
On Thursday, November 20th, 2025, around 6:00 pm, Thunder Bay OPP conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle along Highway 11-17, within the Municipality of Shuniah.
OPP Canine Unit, along with the Thunder Bay OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) was engaged, attended the location & after a thorough search of the vehicle, officers located a large quantity of what appeared to be Methamphetamine & Cocaine, Canadian currency & paraphernalia related to drug trafficking.
Investigators have seized the vehicle, as well, the following items with approximate quantities:
- 5 kilograms of suspect Cocaine
- 816 grams of suspect Methamphetamine
- $860.00 of Canadian currency
The total value of CDSA seized was estimated to be approximately $600,000.00 in street value.
As a result, Mark Ray CHRISTIE, 59, of Etobicoke, Ontario, was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Traffick in Schedule I Substance - Cocaine
- Traffick in Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamines
This accused was held in-custody overnight for a bail hearing & was subsequently remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail.
Christine BEAUMONT, 59, of Cookstown, was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Traffick in Schedule I Substance - Cocaine
- Traffick in Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamines
This accused was held in-custody overnight for a bail hearing & was subsequently remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail.
