TORONTO POLICE SERVICE OFFICER CHARGED


(ORILLIA, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Toronto Police Service (TPS) member in relation to an on-duty incident.

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, TPS Professional Standards Unit began an investigation into allegations of breach of trust, obstruction of justice and theft involving a TPS officer. On Monday, January 27, 2025, TPS requested that the OPP assume responsibility for the investigation.

On Monday, June 23, 2025, as a result of the investigation, Brian SUKHRAM, age 38 of Brampton, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Breach of trust, section 122
  • Obstruct justice, section 139
  • Theft over $5,000, section 334(a)
  • Theft under $5,000, section 334(b)
