TOWN OF MONO RESIDENT CHARGED AFTER STRIKING VEHICLES IN DUFFERIN COUNTY


(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Town of Mono resident with multiple Criminal Code driving offences after striking vehicles on Wednesday morning.

On October 1, 2025, Dufferin OPP officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving out of control, striking vehicles from Broadway in the Town of Orangeville all the way to Primrose, leaving a trail of destruction behind. The officers acted quickly and located the heavily damaged vehicle at the intersection of Highway 10 and 89 in the Town of Mono. They successfully blocked the vehicle from proceeding further, preventing additional damage and ensuring the safety of community members.

Brian HALBERT, a 46-year-old male from the Town of Mono, has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Failure to Stop After Accident x 2
  • Flight from Peace Officer
