(MEAFORD, ON) - A 69-year-old male has been arrested and charged following a dangerous incident involving a tractor and a police vehicle in the Municipality of Meaford.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, police observed a male known to police operating a tractor on private property. When officers attempted to engage with the accused, he fled on the tractor, striking the police cruiser in the process. The accused was eventually taken into custody. The officer did not sustain any injury. The cruiser sustained significant damage.

Robert HEASMAN, 69-year-old, of Meaford, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

• Dangerous Operation
• Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on June 30, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
