TRAFFIC COMPLAINT AND COLLISON LEAD TO IMPAIRED AND DANGEROUS OPERATION CHARGES
(KENORA, ON) - On Sunday, November 23, 2025, at approximately 4:15 pm, Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver on Highway 17 eastbound. The vehicle was later involved in a collision on Highway 17 west, near the Keewatin Bridge in Kenora.
Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined that alcohol had been consumed. The individual was arrested and transported to the Kenora OPP Detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old male has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on January 8, 2026. Additionally, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
