TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE


(DUTTON-DUNWICH, ON) - The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic complaint.

On June 7, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am, police received a traffic complaint from a citizen on Highway 401. Police stopped the suspect vehicle in the Municipality of Dutton-Dunwich and determined the driver was impaired.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to Elgin County Detachment for further testing

As a result of the investigation, Lacee PHUNG, a 42-year-old from Windsor was charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on July 22,2025.
