TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES


(NORTH PERTH, ON) - One person has been charged following a traffic complaint in the Municipality of North Perth.

On November 22, 2025 shortly after 10:00 pm the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a vehicle that was unable to maintain its lane while driving.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to a local OPP detachment where he provided breath samples that were two times over the legal limit.

The driver, 39-year-old Chan Ortiz BALTAZAR of North Perth was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on December 22, 2025. The accused is also facing a 90-day drivers licence suspension, 7-day motor vehicle impoundment as well as tow and impound fees.
