TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) - A traffic complaint has led to an individual being arrested for impaired driving.

On December 25, 2025, at approximately 7:00 pm, the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver.

Police located the involved vehicle on Highway 40 near Churchill Line, where a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Mitchell HILLSDON, a 24-year-old of Sarnia, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 9, 2026, in Sarnia.
