TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST AND DRUG SEIZURE IN NEW TECUMSETH
(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) - Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a traffic complaint that led to an impaired driving investigation and drug seizure in the Town of New Tecumseth.
Shortly after 8:00 am on December 13, 2025, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint regarding a pickup truck swerving on and off the road of Highway 89, west of Cookstown. Officers located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop on Dunham Drive in Alliston.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested the driver for impaired driving. Officers also seized a small quantity of suspected cocaine from the vehicle.
The driver, Giuseppe CARUSO, 52-years-old, of Courtice, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood drug concentration
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine
- Driving while under suspension
The passenger, Summer MYERS, 20-years-old, of Bowmanville, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine
Both accused parties were released on a Form 10 Undertaking. The driver is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later date to answer to the charges.
