TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO CHARGES
10 Charges Laid
(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge Brampton resident, alongside a business in relation to a traffic stop with a commercial motor vehicle.
On September 29, 2025, at approximately 2:30 pm, the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and conducted a traffic stop on McCullogh Drive, within the Town of Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old from Brampton is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
- Overweight on tires …kg - liftable axle deployed improperly
- Overweight single axle (single tires) …kg. Class A Highway - liftable axle deployed improperly
- Improper tires - commercial motor vehicle
- Fail to accurately complete daily inspection report
Additionally, a local business associated to the traffic stop is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Fail to ensure performance standards are met
- Fail to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly
- Improper tires - commercial motor vehicle
- Overweight on tires …kg - liftable axle deployed improperly
- Overweight single axle (single tires) …kg. Class A Highway - liftable axle deployed improperly
All accused are scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
