(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Traffic stop results in drug possession charges for occupants.
On September 13, 2025, at 2:05 am, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while stationary in a parking lot on Donnybrook Drive in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a vehicle performing a burnout, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
Investigation revealed the driver was suspended.
The driver was placed under arrest, at which time a quantity of illicit drugs, suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, was located and seized.
As a result, a 35-year-old of London, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive motor vehicle - Perform stunt
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates
- Poss of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
A passenger in the vehicle, a 51-year-old of London, has also been charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Poss of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on October 24, 2025, to speak to the charges.
