TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE ON HIGHWAY 401


(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop on Highway 401.

On July 18, 2025, at 10:52 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the Municipality of Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated on the off-ramp to Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Cooper EARLEY, a 24-year-old of Vineland, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 7, 2025.
