(MORAVIAN FIRST NATION, ON) - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On June 14, 2025, at 4:45 pm, a member of the Moravian First Nation Police, while travelling on Selton Line in Moravian First Nation, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Elgin OPP Detachment.

As a result, Ryan TRAVENE, a 37-year-old of Morpeth, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 2, 2025.
