(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) - Two people are charged following a traffic stop on Sunset Road in Central Elgin.
On July 23, 2025, at approximately 2:53 pm the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), stopped a motor vehicle on Sunset Road because of a hit on the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system.
Tanya TUCKEY, 44-years-old of London is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (two times)
- Operation while impaired
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence (Highway Traffic Act)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor (Liquor Licence Act)
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available (Cannabis Control Act)
Kenneth DALE, 51-years-old of London is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, and
- Failure to comply with undertaking
As a result of the traffic stop, the Elgin and Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on an address in London. Tanya TUCKEY is charged with the following additional Criminal Code offences:
- Possession of Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order (two times)
- Possession of a Crossbow contrary to Prohibition Order
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm and Ammunition
The accused parties were held for bail and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on the July 24,2025.
