TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO SIGNIFICANT DRUG SEIZURE IN BANCROFT


(BANCROFT, ON) - An individual from western Ontario is facing drug trafficking charges after a significant drug seizure in in Bancroft.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, shortly before 2:00 pm, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Mill Street.

Christopher HULSMANS, age 43 of London has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - three counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 2 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule 4 substance for the purpose of trafficking - two counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Personation with intent (identity fraud)
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Failing to comply with an undertaking - six counts

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Monday, November 10, 2025.
