(PETROLIA, ON) - A traffic stop in Petrolia results in multiple charges.

On August 17, 2025, shortly after 11:45 am, a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on North Street, west of Oil Heritage Road.

As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old of Wallaceburg was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with the following offences:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Class G1 holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Drive motor vehicle - no currently validated permit
  • Drive without proper rear light - motor vehicle
  • Fail to have insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court in the City of Sarnia on October 2, 2025.
