(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit lay seven charges in relation to a traffic stop.
On July 7, 2025, at approximately 5:00 pm, the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement, and initiated a traffic stop on Highway 6 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Fergus is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Environmental Protection Act with:
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Defective braking system
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Improper tires
- Improper mudguards
- Owner - causing operation of vehicle - missing emission control equipment
