TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN FIVE CHARGES
Two Individuals Arrested
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges two individuals with five charges, stemming from an attempted traffic stop.
On July 7, 2025, at approximately 7:30 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was attempted to be initiated on Wellington Road 26 within Centre Wellington Township. Once the traffic stop was signaled, the motor vehicle failed to stop and instead fled the area, prompting an investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Paddy OSHEA,18-years-old, resident of Ireland, was charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
Additionally, Layla CASH, 23-years-old, resident of the United Kingdom, was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Obstruct Peace officer
The motor vehicle involved was impounded, and both accused were held in custody, pending a bail hearing.
