(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - A traffic violation leads to impaired charge in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
On Sunday May 11, 2025, at approximately 2:30 am the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign on Woods Street, Kirkland Lake. Upon speaking with the driver officers determined the individual had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kirkland Lake OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Oliver GRENIER, a 31-year-old from Val D’Or, QC, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired by alcohol
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
- Disobey stop sign- fail to stop
- Fail to surrender insurance card
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Driver fail to surrender licence
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is next scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on July 3, 2025.
