TWO INJURED AFTER DOG BITE INCIDENT

(KINCARDINE, ON) - On January 6, 2026, at approximately 8:31 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a dog bite at a residence along Kincardine-Kinloss Townline, Municipality of Kincardine.

Police attended the location with Bruce County Paramedic Services and located two individuals who had sustained bites from a dog, who was owned by one of the involved persons. They were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The dog has been contained, and animal control are assisting with the matter.

The South Bruce OPP would like to take this opportunity to remind all dog owners to be familiar with the Dog Owners Liability Act (DOLA). Under this act, the owner of a dog shall exercise reasonable precautions to prevent it from biting or attacking a person or domestic animal; or from behaving in a manner that poses a menace to the safety of the public. Further, the owner of a dog could be liable if the dog bites or attacks another person or domestic animal. Please ensure that you are able to maintain control of your dog at all times in order to prevent any potential injuries to others or to the dog itself.
