TWO PEOPLE CHARGED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING AFTER TRAFFIC STOP


(BANCROFT, ON)  - Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have seized over $1,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop in the Town of Bancroft. 

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, shortly before 10:00 pm, officers stopped a vehicle. During the investigation two people were arrested and a search of the vehicle and the arrested people located over 14 grams of suspected cocaine, cash, and a cell phone.

Amanda CORBY, age 37 and Charles TOWNSEND age 61, of Highlands East have been charged with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Both of the accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 4, 2025.
