TWO VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING MOTORCYCLE RESULTS IN FATALITY

AT INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 58 AND THOROLD STONE ROAD

(NIAGARA, ON) - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Niagara Detachment are investigating a two-vehicle collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck that resulted in a fatality to the driver of the motorcycle.

At approximately 3:50 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025, there was a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the intersection of highway 58 and Thorold Stone Rd in Thorold, Ontario. Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old male from Niagara Falls, the lone occupant, suffered critical injuries and was subsequently declared deceased.

The lone occupant of the pickup truck was not injured and remained on scene.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit attended to complete a thorough technical/reconstructive motor vehicle investigation of the scene. The intersection and various roads in the area were closed for approximately 5 hours for the collision investigation and cleanup. No charges have been laid, and the investigation is ongoing.
