TWO VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING MOTORCYCLE RESULTS IN FATALITY

AT INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 6 AND UPPER JAMES ST

(BURLINGTON, ON) - Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) - Burlington Detachment are investigating a two-vehicle collision between a motorcycle and a transport truck that resulted in a fatality to the driver of the motorcycle.

At approximately 11:00 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, there was a collision involving a motorcycle and a transport truck in the intersection of highway 6 and Upper James St in the City of Hamilton.

Reports indicate the motorcycle was travelling southbound on Upper James St approaching the intersection and the transport truck was travelling north on highway 6 and turning left (west) to continue onto highway 6 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

Emergency services attended the scene and the driver of the motorcycle, a 44-year-old male from Norfolk County, the lone occupant, was transported to hospital with critical injuries and was subsequently declared deceased at the hospital.

The lone occupant of the transport truck was not injured and remained on scene.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit attended to complete a thorough technical/reconstructive motor vehicle investigation of the scene. The intersection and various roads in the area were closed for approximately six hours for the collision investigation and cleanup.

No charges have been laid at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.
