(LONDON, ON) - Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle collides with unmarked OPP police vehicle.
On June 24, 2025, at 11:01 pm, a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Investigation and Enforcement Bureau was operating an unmarked police vehicle on York Street in the City of London.
Investigation revealed the police vehicle was stopped at a red light, when it was hit from behind by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).
The driver of the SUV was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Carol ACOSTA RUBIANO, a 40-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway traffic Act with:
- Operation while impaired - Alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Careless Driving
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
- Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 11, 2025.
