(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) - A two vehicle crash at the intersection of Vasey Road and Old Fort Road, Tay Township in the late afternoon of July 12, 2025 has resulted in one occupant being sent to a trauma center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched at 5:16 pm to the scene involving two passenger vehicles and four occupants with the report of an unconscious person.
Simcoe County Paramedics, Tay Township Fire Service triaged the victims which resulted in a 65 year old female from Wasaga Beach being transported to an area hospital and onward to a GTA trauma hospital. Three other involved persons were transported to an area hospital and released after being treated for minor injuries.
Investigation revealed that a south bound grey Rav4 Toyota came into collision with a 1959 green Pontiac Catalina that was travelling west bound Vasey Road at the time.
The 47 year old male driver of the Toyota who is a resident of Richmond Hill has been charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Provincial Offences court at a future date.
