OPP SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE TO IDENTIFY PERSONS OF INTEREST IN FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION

(CHATSWORTH, ON) - The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is providing an update regarding the fail‑to‑remain motor vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at approximately 10:44 pm in the parking lot of a business in Dundalk.
Thanks to information provided by members of the public, investigators have identified the individuals associated with the vehicle that left the scene.
As a result of the investigation, a 34‑year‑old resident of Dundalk has been charged with the following offences under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA):
- Fail to Report Accident
- Careless Driving
The OPP is also reminding all drivers of their legal obligations following a collision. Section 199(1) of Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act requires that any driver involved in a collision resulting in injuries or property damage exceeding $5,000 must report the incident forthwith (immediately) to the nearest police officer. Drivers must also provide required information, including licence, vehicle registration, and insurance details.
Failing to report a collision is a provincial offence and may result in charges.
