Shelter-in-Place Lifted, One in Custody
(TWEED, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Central Hastings Detachment has lifted the shelter-in-place advisory for the area around Jamieson St. East and Louisa St. in the Municipality of Tweed. One individual is in police custody, and no others are being sought.
The shelter-in-place advisory was issued on Monday, December 15, 2025, at around 12:30 am in response to an active incident involving an armed individual that was contained and surrounded within a building. As part of the initial response, residents in the immediate area were urged to follow shelter-in-place precautions.
