SHELTER-IN-PLACE IN EFFECT IN WELLINGTON NORTH

Shelter-In-Place Lifted - Area Contained - Road Closed

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene at a residential property with a barricaded subject. Shelter-in-Place lifted for Wellington North.

On September 19, 2025, at approximately 11:45 pm, the Wellington County OPP were called to a residence on Highway 6, just north of Arthur within Wellington North Township, regarding a barricaded person.

Police are currently on scene and have contained the area, with the assistance of the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine, Crisis Negotiators and Paramedic Services.

As a result of this active investigation, Highway 6 has been closed between Sideroad 10 and Wells Street, just north of Arthur. The public is asked to stay clear of the area.

This incident is contained to one residence, and the shelter-in-place has been lifted for all Wellington North Township.
