Correction To Date Of Incident

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) - Officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen vehicle and laid multiple charges following a traffic stop on Highway 401.

On June 26, 2025, shortly after 9:00 am, an officer was on patrol on Highway 401 in the Township of Cramahe, when the in-cruiser Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system alerted them to a stolen pick-up truck travelling eastbound. The vehicle was believed to be stolen the previous day from an address near Orangeville.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and confirmed the vehicle as stolen.

As a result, Ibrahim MAZAMBU, 20-years-old, from Laval, Quebec, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possessing automobile master key
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in July.
