-UPDATE #1- STUNT DRIVING LEADS TO ARREST AND DRUG SEIZURE

Correction of Court Date

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - A traffic stop for stunt driving on Highway 11 resulted in three arrests and the seizure of drugs.

On Thursday October 19, 2025, at approximately 2:50 a.m, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 in Grenfell Township. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving 141km/h in a posted 90km/h zone.

Officers detected a strong odour of cannabis while speaking with the driver, which led to a search of the motor vehicle. As a result of the search, officers seized suspected cocaine, heroin, ketamine, and fentanyl with a street value of over $46,700. Additionally, brass knuckles, 42 SIM cards, seven checkbooks, $2,500 in Canadian currency and $1,980 in United States currency was seized.

As a result of the investigation, Anmol BHATIA, a 23-year-old from Brampton, has been arrested and charged with:

  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
  • Drive motor vehicle- perform stunt - excessive speed
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis in open baggage
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - ketamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on February 26, 2026.

Additionally, Alstan GERAD, a 22-year-old from Etobicoke, has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - ketamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on February 26, 2026.

Additionally, Pio KAHSA, a 22-year-old from Guelph, has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - ketamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court - two counts

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on December 2, 2025.
